Pinterest Technique That You Shouldn't Miss
According to a study by Semiocast, Pinterest has already gained more than 70 million users as of June 2013. This number makes the site the second most popular social networking site on the planet next to Facebook. That said, Pinterest is as important as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ as a marketing medium -- or at least to gain extra traffic and / or sales.
Back when Pinterest was starting to make a name for itself, it was on an invite-only basis. Today, signing up involves only clicking buttons.
So what's the Pinterest technique that you shouldn't miss?
If you're promoting your affiliate sites, this technique involves putting a caption or meme-ifying your images before you upload them on one of your boards.
Say, you're promoting tower fans by publishing reviews. Put the text "Best Tower Fans 2014" (or think of a better one) on your image before you pin it. Here's an example.
Why does this image get repinned or clicked on? Because without the text, it looks like an ordinary tower fan. There is nothing spectacular about it, so users won't notice it. The text makes all the difference.
To edit your images, do NOT use Paint. The result is ugly. Instead, use a free online image editor. My favorite is Befunky.com. Try it.
